All Media Center books are now overdue and need to be returned to the Media Center ASAP; otherwise, students will receive bills with their report cards.

It's the end of the school year, so let's get that lunch money turned in. We have many students that owe money. Please check with the lunch ladies to see if you owe.

7th grade Survivor Day will be on Thursday, May 23.

Remember we only have one more day of school. Let us remember to adhere to the dress code, be appreciative, spread kindness, and do the right thing!

Today: Photo Club

Yearbooks are in and will be handed out during lunches today.  We do have a VERY LIMITED amount of extras for sale.  They are $18.00...first come first serve...check made out to Aurora City Schools.. or EXACT CASH ONLY must be brought to Mrs.Richards in the office.

There will be no rec in the Media Center today. Once again no rec in the Media Center.

Attention French Students.  Mme Bellet, your Paris Pen Pal's teacher says that some of her students are going to try to meet with us on Google Meet during 4th period lunch today.  If you can, go to the Google Meet in the Harmon French Google Classroom between 10:15 and 10:45 and see who you can see.  If this works out, we'll try it again next Wednesday. If you have any questions you can check in with Monsieur Frankmann at the start of 4th period on your way to lunch.

All books are due back in the Media Center on Friday, May 17.

Tickets for the 8th grade dance to be held on Saturday, May 18 will be sold during lunches today, Thursday, & Friday - May 15 through May 17. Cash only $5.00. All fees must be paid to buy a ticket. See Mrs. Richards in the office if you are not sure what or if you owe anything.

The Harmon Talent Show is on Saturday, May 18 at 5pm in the Harmon Commons right before the 8th grade dance. Come out and see your friends sing, dance, act, play instruments, and do magic tricks. Admission is free, and all are welcome to come out and enjoy the show.

Congratulations to the Girls 4x800 relay team of Evelyn Jenkins, Addy Occhinero, Audrey Miller, & Claire Jenkins for setting a new school record in the league meet last evening with a time of 10.22.14 !  Shattering the old record of 10:39 set in 2016.

Also grabbing points for the track team at Leagues last evening were Marcia Hamilton in shot put, Jacoby Schadle in discus, Nicky Savukas in long jump, Hope Kanouff in high jump and the Boys 4x800 relay team of Oliver Nenadal, Linus Phillips, Stephen Sabulsky and Matthew Huth!

Congratulations to Hope Kanouff, Jacoby Schadle, & Ethan Yim for competing at the OHSAA State Jr. High meet on Saturday. Hope placed 4th in high jump clearing 4’10.  Jacoby took 13th in shot put throwing 45’8. Ethan took 20th in 400m running 55.98.  WELL DONE!

Today is the kick-off for the Harmon High PTO Scholastic BOGO Book Fair. This fair's theme is "Kickoff to Summer Reads!"  The virtual fair is already open. Did you take a book fair brochure? It lists the link to Harmon's online book fair. There is also a contest on the Media Center Google Classroom.

There will be no Gaming Club today. Next week will be our final week of gaming. See you then.

The winners of the Makerspace drawing sponsored by the American Chemical Society received their prizes this morning in the Media Center: Diya Bagchi, Bebe Chansa, Tessa Clary, Katherine Dudash, Blaise Felice, Marcia Hamilton, Alexa Karas, Jashwika Kovvuri, Ethan Reid, Jay Reid, Josie Schadle, & Parker Zupancic. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all who participated in a Makerspace activity during this school year!

Congratulations to 7th grader Evelyn Jenkins and 6th grader Henry Trook who were BOTH selected as finalists in the 2024 Young Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge for their business entries Smart Bait and Stubbystems! As a winner, they have each won an additional $120, for a total of $180 in prize money! Congratulations to all of the students who participated in this creative and innovative Northeast Ohio contest!

Mrs. Sunderhaft's students were invited to participate in the "What we Love about Wetlands" Poster contest through the Portage County Soil and Conservation District. All of these winners will be interviewed and a video will be made of their poster and their thoughts on Wetlands. This video will be shown at an upcoming water and wetlands symposium, with over 100 participants, and winning posters will also be displayed at the Randolph Fair this August. We are pleased to announce that three students were selected for the top awards. They were: 1st place 7th grader Lexie Tice; 2nd place 7th grader Anna Huffman; & 3rd place 6th grader Tevona Sesuraj. Other students also received honorable mentions included 6th graders: Poorvi Vasamshetty, Kennedy Ware, Isaac Harvey, Stella Krane, Henry Trook,
Ethan Bradley, & Krisha Mahangare. 7th graders: Ana Donohue, Tyler Stofcho, Nicole Sender, Aadhav Sathyamurthy, & Samhitha Reddi.

Remember we do not have school tomorrow - Friday, April 26 - Enjoy your long weekend!

Harmon talent show auditions will take place today - Thursday, April 25 - after school in the choir room. Auditions will run from 2:30-5pm. This is not just a music show - all talents are welcome. We're looking forward to seeing your magic tricks, jump roping, dog training, juggling, unicycle riding, and breakdancing! Please see Mr. Downing to sign up for your time and for more information on the show.

Attention Harmon our 3rd annual cereal drive has begun and runs through Thursday, April 25. All 6th and 7th graders you will take your cereal to your 5th period teachers. 8th graders please take your cereal to your 7th period teachers.  Winning teams will get an end of school treat and time outside.  Ask your teachers which teachers are on your teams. This is in support of our Aurora Food Pantry.  We will have a cereal box domino race with all of our boxes! Our Goal is 1000 boxes! BRING IT HARMON!

All Harmon students are invited to the Harmon Fun Night on Friday, May 3 from 6:30-8:30 PM.  We will have inflatables, ice cream and fantastic raffle prizes including a candy tower topped with a $200 AMAZON gift card!  Challenge your friends to the 50 foot Boulderdash as you race through an obstacle course while onlookers swing boulders to knock you off course.  We will also have a 40 foot racing obstacle course and an inflatable Connect 4 Basketball game.  The cost is only $7 per person, but you must register online at our website: auroraorchestras.org.  This event is limited to the first 225 students who register only.  Register today before time runs out.
